Kv Ugglan

As mentioned in previous post...new tendences are seen on modern preeschool houses. Here is a Swedish new example, kv Ugglan, in Stockholm suburb Alby, by architect 3dO and Ami Katz. The story behind this is that the old preschool burned down, and they wanted the new building to be inspiring, safe and counteract the negative tendencies of vandalism and insecurity. The result was this round shape in aluminum with a playground in the center. Sure looks like a nice place to both play and work! Next time in Stockholm this be on the list for a visit.
